WHO WE ARE:
FreewareCart is a 100% FREE Java web shopping cart solution that provides a safe and secure way to sell your products over the internet. FreewareCart is a suite of java software modules designed to supplement your current web site with shopping cart capabilities. FreewareCart will run on any J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition) compliant application server on either Windows or Linux platforms. FreewareCart was developed using Sun's Glassfish
Java Application Server 9.1 and MySQL
database. Both Glassfish and MySQL are licensed for free use under the
GPL software license agreement.
Freewarecart offers a product maintenance program for you to build and publish your product catalog to the web. As your customer's view your product catalog, they have the option to add your products to their shopping cart using the integrated Freewarecart order processing module. The order processing module and product catalog are seemlessly integrated to provide your customer's with an optimal product browsing and web shopping experience. Once placed, an order is managed using Freewarecart's back-office order tracking and maintenance program. This allows you to manage your orders from order creation through order fulfillment, order invoicing, and payment remittance. FreewareCart can be linked to most popular credit card payment processing gateways (programming required). FreewareCart does offer a 'First Data' credit card processing gateway which is freely available after signing a LLDRS non disclosure agreement.
Freewarecart DOES require computer knowledge to set up and configure. Freewarecart is provided with complete installation instructions (see the "Download" menu). All FreewareCart source code is provided and software enhancement is encouraged. FreewareCart will easily scale to handle thousands of orders per day depending on server resources and available IP network bandwidth.
GlassFish is Sun Microsystem's most current open source application server for the Java Enterprise Edition (Java EE) platform. The commercial version is called Sun Java System Application Server 9.x. GlassFish is free software, dual-licensed under two free software licences: the Common Development and Distribution License (CDDL) and the GNU General Public License (GPL) with the classpath exception. GlassFish is based on source code donated by Sun and Oracle Corporation's TopLink persistence system. It uses a derivative of Apache Tomcat as the servlet container for serving Web content, with an added component called Grizzly which uses Java NIO for scalability and speed.
MySQL, the world's most popular open source SQL database with more than 11 million installations. MySQL is developed and provided by MySQL AB. MySQL AB is a commercial company the builds its business providing services around the MySQL database. MySQL delivers a very fast, multi-threaded, multi-user, and robust SQL database server. Once the refuge of geeky hackers, MySQL is now a well-respected product that is more than capable of commercial operation. In fact, the entire Google search engine is built upon MySQL technology! MySQL Server is available as free software under the GNU General Public License (GPL).
As mentioned above, FreewareCart is 100% FREE with no strings attached. There are no expiration dates, no trial versions, and no costly version upgrades.
